Effective December 31, the Blue Ridge Emergency Medical Services (BREMS) Council will officially conclude operations. This change is the result of a statewide reorganization by the Office of Emergency Medical Services (OEMS), which has reduced the number of EMS councils from 11 to 7.
As part of this reorganization, the former BREMS region will now be included in OEMS Region 2, which will be overseen by the Western Virginia EMS Council. We appreciate the continued dedication and service of our EMS agencies, providers, partners, and stakeholders throughout the BREMS region. Additional information regarding regional support and services will be provided by the Western Virginia EMS Council as this transition moves forward.
